Overview:


The Mental Health Commissioner is responsible for delivering the functions of the South Australian Mental Health Commission which is focussed on working in partnership with a broad range of stakeholders to achieve whole of government strategies to support the mental health and wellbeing of the South Australian community.


The Executive Assistant provides a comprehensive end-to-end executive support service to the Mental Health Commissioner, to ensure the effective flow of information across the agency and to critical stakeholders.


The Executive Assistant, South Australian Mental Health Commissioner is responsible to the Mental Health Commissioner for the provision of a full range of high-level executive and administrative services and provides administrative and business support services to the Office.

The role is pivotal in fostering smooth operations for the Commissioner as the supportive logistics coordinator for the team.


The position supports the Commission's diverse initiatives, playing an instrumental part in shaping a resilient mental health landscape in South Australia.

The role provides linkages, insights, recommendations, and solutions for action as part of a small team.


This role is suitable to a person who is a proactive and highly organised self-starter with an ability to work in a complex, sensitive and fast-paced environment.

The role also requires high levels of adaptability and a commitment to collaboration and contributing to a professional and supportive work environment.

Internal

  • Reports to and provides a wide range of administrative executive support to the Mental Health Commissioner.
  • Works closely with the other members of the Office of the South Australian Mental Health Commissioner and undertakes administrative and business support services for the Office.
  • Liaises with the Mental Health Commissioner for South Australia, Executive Director Mental Health and Wellbeing and other Executives.
  • Maintains cooperative and productive working relationships with staff within Wellbeing SA.
External

  • Liaises and maintains a professional interface with the Office of the Minister for Health and Wellbeing, Office of the Chief Psychiatrist and Department for Health and Wellbeing, other external stakeholders and the community to support the Commissioner and effective functioning of the Officer of the South Australian Mental Health Commissioner.
As the Mental Health Commissioner is hosted by Wellbeing SA, the Executive Assistant is an employee of Wellbeing SA.
