About the role


The Support Officer - Aged and Community Care (Social Support) helps Red Cross deliver Telecross, Telechat and other social support programs designed to reach isolated people and improve social inclusion.

The role will coordinate, supervise, train and support a large volunteer workforce to deliver programs.

You will utilise online systems to allocate, roster and assign roles to volunteers, record client information and deliver morning Telecross services to clients.


As part of a nation wide team delivering services to clients across Australia, the Support Officer collaborates with other internal teams to recruit volunteers, intake new clients, improve systems and processes, and ensure programs are informed by consumer choice, provide dignity and respect, and are responsive to identity, culture and diversity.


What you will bring

  • Demonstrated ability to follow and implement Frameworks, policies, procedures, work instructions, guidelines and standards
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative; work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent records management and general administration skills
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including with people from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Experience engaging with and supporting volunteers

Compliance Requirements:
Working with Vulnerable People Check & Driver Licence required

Further information
This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 3. Salary from $71,155.76 FTE + superannuation + access to salary packaging.
