Our client, a successful manufacturing and wholesale FMCG company is seeking to recruit a Purchasing Manager to lead the team and to drive purchasing operations for optimum efficiencies to meet inventory demand.
The Role
- Lead/manage a small team of 4 in the purchasing department across ANZ.
- Ability to crunch numbers and interpret master data findings for senior leadership to access easily.
- Reporting duties around communication of inventory risk.
- Forecasts and Purchase Orders are placed with vendors in appropriate timeframes to enable stock availability.
- Ensure the team completes purchasing functions in a timely and accurate manner and then monitors through until receipt at warehouse, including documentation and payment requirements.
- Manage inbound orders from suppliers, including analysis and reporting variances to plan.
- Deliver inventory and supply plans against agreed business working capital and service levels, maintaining supply against demand signals.
- To ensure all vendor reviews are completed as scheduled and appropriate purchase orders placed within delegated authorities and guidelines.
- Maintain the validity of compliance/customs permits for AU + NZ.
- To participate in the BAR/Gate and S&OP processes (i.e. IBP Supply Review) delivering effective participation, structure and reliable expertise in relevant crossfunctional teams and projects.
- Maintain an Operating Cadence, develop and implement SOP's / Work Instructions, delivering process control.
- Provide System ownership / knowledge expertise as part of the IBP / S&OP process, including gaining the capability to create system presentations, develop and maintain background system controls and set up.
Your Background
- Purchasing experience in a manufacturing and wholesaler environment.
- Proficient using ERP systems.
- 510 years of experience in purchasing/procurement.
- Previous analytics experience within purchasing operations.
- Knowledge of S&OP processes
- Demand Planning to Supply
- Logistics experience with freight forwarding, importation and global container movements
- Acted as a Manager or Team Lead for a small team.
- Worked as part of a crossfunctional team with different departments.
- Experience working with external stakeholders such as: Suppliers, Logistics providers, Freight Forwarders, and
