OCON Services is a multi-disciplinary Remediation and Ground Engineering Contractor providing a comprehensive range of remediation and civil services to public and private sector clients.

The Role
We require a Payroll/Accounts Officer to support our HSEQ and Accounting teams.

You will act as the first point of contact for HR related queries from employees and external partners.

Your main duties include maintaining personnel records, updating internal databases, preparing payroll weekly, and the processing of purchase invoices.


Responsibilities

  • Organise new employee paperwork, verify that it's complete and accurate and that all certificates/licences/insurances are in date.
  • Save down all paperwork to our internal systems and periodically review.
  • Update new employee details onto our accounting package MYOB.
  • Weekly review of timesheets on our Fieldworker/Assignar package.
  • Preparation of weekly payroll for management to review.
  • Approval of labour hire timesheets and checking accuracy of subcontractor/labour hire invoices.
  • Answer employee queries about HR related issues.
  • Prepare Staff Reimbursement claims when necessary.
  • Data entry of purchase invoices onto MYOB.
  • Other ad hoc accounting duties as required.

Requirements and Skills

  • Proven work experience as a Payroll/Accounts Officer or similar role.
  • Experience of Accounting software MYOB and Construction software Fieldworker/Assignar will be an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and an ability to prioritise important tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written Communication skills.
