OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • To have a working knowledge of all Freight Office tasks and ensure all documentation processed is accurate and completed within in a timely manner. Data entry, updating consignment notes and ensuring that the information is correct to reduce the amounts of credit. Debrief, ensuring that all drivers have returned with the correct paperwork and pallet documents. Manifest, ensuring we are compliant.
  • PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
List in clear, concise statements what the duty is and how it is performed. Use specific verbs of action, such as "supervise"; "compile"; "load"; "operate"; "record"; "provide", "develop", "lead" etc. Avoid "prepare"; "handle" and "assist".

Ensure responsibilities for Total Quality Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity, Industrial Relations and other relevant policies and legislation are included.

- Provide accurate and timely operational reports as requested by Management- Ensure all activities undertaken are compliant will Global Express policies, procedures and guidelines as well as meeting audit requirements- To participate fully in working as a team and to participate in all 'multi skill' training and learning and development opportunities- Paperwork to be completed in a timely manner- Liaise with various Operational staff to ensure tasks are completed on time- Any other tasks as directed

  • HSE Responsibilities
  • Follow Global Express and legislative health and safety requirements to do with their roles and responsibilities
  • Identify and report hazards, injuries and incidents
  • Follow reasonable instructions in both normal and emergency situations related to health and safety
  • Act responsibly for the safety of self and others
  • Participate in health and safety improvement activities, reviews, audits and consultation
  • Wear/use designated personal protective equipment and clothing in accordance with information, instruction or training
  • Ensure tools and PPE and clothing are in a safe condition before use and report/fix as appropriate any defects
  • Cooperate with any reasonable policy or procedure relating to health or safety that has been communicated to the workplace
  • Report hazards, injuries, and incidents
  • Engage in safety audits and observations
  • Undertake health and safety related actions assigned to them through appropriate channels
  • As an employee at Global Express you have further legal responsibilities for OH&S which include:
  • Supervise employees to ensure they comply with their individual responsibilities under OH&S legislation and as outlined above
  • Observe and enforce OH&S policies and procedures
  • Direct employees to work safely and without risk to health
  • Support the health and safety program in the workplace
  • Inform and support staff to develop safe work procedures
  • Remove or taking steps to control work hazards as soon as they are observed or reported
  • Investigate accidents and incidents and take corrective action
  • Consult employees on issues which may affect their health and safety
  • Refer employee concerns about OH&S issues to management.
  • SKILLS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills
  • Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment
  • Working knowledge of company documentation
  • Demonstrated understanding of administrative procedures
