The Opportunity


Our Child Physical Activity, Health and Development team focuses on improving children's physical activity levels, health and development and works to uncover the best environments, policies, and programs to facilitate physically active lifestyles for lifelong health and wellbeing.

We now have an opportunity for a Program Coordinator to work closely with the Head of the Healthy Behaviours & Environment Program to facilitate and support the strategic direction for the Child Physical Activity, Health & Development Team and wider Healthy Behaviours & Environment Program.


In this important role, you will work across all areas of the research program, providing leadership and support to the Program Head and team in the areas of research program and team strategy and research project management to ensure the team delivers high quality research outcomes and outputs.

Some of your duties will include but not be limited to;

  • Implement research project governance, management and reporting procedures to monitor project progress.
  • Facilitate high level of research productivity and collaboration across projects and people in a dynamic research environment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and assist with coordination of consumer group activities and engagement with the research program.


Based at Perth Children's Hospital in Nedlands, this role can either be offered as a full-time or part-time opportunity (minimum 0.8FTE) for 18 months with possible extension.


About You

  • Tertiary qualification within research management, project management or health sciences.
  • Ability to provide leadership to high performing teams, facilitate effective teamwork and liaise with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Welldeveloped conceptual and analytical skills including ability for strategic thinking and developing appropriate strategies.
  • Evidence of academic writing (grants submissions/reports, ethics submissions/reports, and publications).
