We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA's largest maternity and obstetric service.

The Opportunity


The Administration Officer is accountable to the Administrative Manager, Paediatric Outpatient Services for the provision of a comprehensive confidential administrative service to the Outpatient Departments.

Tasks include coordinating patient admissions, facilitating equipment and stationary ordering, and booking patient follow up appointments, updating patient demographics and arriving patient into clinic.

In addition the role will include administrative support to the Nursing Unit Managers, and other professional staffing members as directed by the Administrative Manager, Paediatric Outpatient Services.


The incumbent works as part of a multi-disciplinary team which contributes to the service of excellence provided by WCHN facility users including staff, patients and students.


We are looking for someone who has:

  • Effective interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and good organisational skills, ability to set priorities, work under pressure and undertake some problem solving with limited assistance
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to adapt to change in a team environment
  • Proven ability to handle conflict situations in a calm and impartial manner
