The Parklife Metro Consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.


This city shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership, will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney.


WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint a Design Coordinator to join the team.


Key Responsibilities:


As the Design Coordinator, you will support the Design Manager in delivering design solutions in accordance with the agreed time, cost, quantity and scope requirements.


Your day to day may include:

  • Coordinate and assist in the Management of the Design Team and/or Technical Team throughout to ensure that projects complete on time using sufficient and correct design coordinated information
  • Agree a schedule of Consultant's, their scope of works, fee proposals and assist in drafting their appointments
  • Provide design input to the Contracts Manager & Quantity Surveyors to manage the completion of the design during construction on site
  • Provide an overview for design methodology, liaise with design consultants
  • Assist in Obtaining or advise on Statutory Authorities connections and possible issues
  • Assist in developing a design programme
  • Schedule required consultants and estimated design fees
  • Consider and identify potential problems, record for reference
  • Read and comment on written submission, provide Contractors Proposals documentation if required
  • Hold design audits to ensure drawings meet the project's requirements and company's expectations before issuing to Client
  • Liaise with Planning, Building Control and all appropriate bodies to meet statutory and planning obligations
  • Manage records of approvals and information required, to facilitate handover to Client on completion
  • Create Project and internal monthly design reports

Key requirements for the role:


  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent
  • White Card
  • At least 3 years of experience within a similar based role working on a major multidisciplinary project of similar complexity
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multidisciplinary design consultants on complex, multidisciplinary rail and tunnelling projects, including establishing and managing quality systems to ensure the integrity of design
  • Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works
