The role:


Reporting to the Technical Delivery Manager, the Principal Technical Specialist will play a lead role in the replacement of the Checkpoint firewalls, within the Cyber Security Program.

This role will provide expert advice and analysis of the local firewall environment to determine appropriate replacement strategies.


Duties will include:


  • Technical change management, implementation, and coordination of the Checkpoint Firewalls located within the HHSs by working closely with HHS and DPT BAU teams.
  • Partner with key stakeholders, HHSs and external suppliers / vendors in developing, socialisation and implementation of technical plans.
  • Provide leadership and support to the Cyber Security Firewall Project team.
  • Provide all levels of support during the change window.
Are you right for this role?

  • Experience in technology design associated with relevant technical domains:
  • Checkpoint Firewalls
  • Microsoft Windows Server Management
  • Firewall Engineering and operations
  • Firewall Security Management Architecture and SmartConsole
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, at business and technical levels, complex architectural concepts, drivers, and issues, in both written and verbal formats.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to integrate information technology with business processes and people.
  • Certification or experience with Checkpoint Firewalls will be highly regarded.
