The Role

As an Intelligence Assessment Analyst (Economics), you will produce intelligence assessments relevant to Australia's national security interests that focus on the intersection of Defence and associated economic issues.


You will analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources, and provide clear verbal and written intelligence assessments to our customers to inform their decision-making.

A merit pool will be created to fill additional vacancies that arise over the next 12 months.


An Intelligence Assessment Analyst at this level is accountable under some or limited direction to undertake complex research and analysis activities.

The analyst will be required to identify relevant stakeholder expectations and concerns to develop a clear understanding of the issues to achieve outcomes.

They will work within a framework of legislation, established principles, work practices and procedures in accordance with Defence's mission and business objectives.

They will undertake various intelligence assessment-related tasks involving a range of processes and methodologies.

They will have authority and discretion to varying degrees, depending on their level, to exercise initiative and judgement to achieve results.
