Our Client
Our client is a part of the iconic Snowy Hydro 2.0 project in Cooma.

As a leading mechanical engineering, services and contracting business operating throughout Australia and New Zealand, they perform an integral role in the development of ANZ infrastructure across mining and resources, transport and power markets.

  • Base Salary Up to $135,000k (Depending on Experience) PLUS Super PLUS 10% Bonus

About the Role


The Site Logistics and Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the safe and smooth material handling for the entire electrical and mechanical scope (Turbines, Generators & Hydraulic Steel Structures) of the Snowy Hydro project.

They proactively coordinates the material requirements with internal and external parties.

They supervise the site warehousing team in a mega construction project and provides clear orientation based on transparent project goals.

Responsibilities include;

  • Assure everyone within area of responsibility commits to HSE respective rules and procedures for storage of materials and substances
  • Overall management of the site storage facilities and supervision of the storage/warehouse team to ensure intime material availability at the place of installation and proper storage as per storage and handling instructions
  • Define storage layout for inside and outside storage area
  • Management of all activities related to the material handling and storage process at site, such as incoming and outgoing goods, related inspections, administration of the materials and parts in the site warehousing software to ensure transparent material status and frequently report on status
  • Identification of opportunities for improvement, i.e. deviations or missing parts and proactively develop mitigation measures by involving the necessary parties such as site quality and site production to ensure internal and external milestones are met; handling of all SAP related processes.
  • Implement unpacking of material process including disposal of package waste
  • Establish and maintain close communication and coordination with the offsite shipment department and external parties, such as local transportation companies for all shipments and related matters
  • Initiate frequent inspections as per the storage requirements and procedures
  • Support local transportation between port and site, considering local applicable rules such as Heavy Vehicle National Laws
  • Participate in site planning meetings
  • Escalate critical issues to the Site Production Manager

Required Skills and Experience

  • Engineering degree (Civil or Mechanical)
  • HSE and Quality Mindset
  • Previous demonstrated experience in a supervisory level position in site logistics and warehousing or site management roles in large Hydro Power projects or in similar industries.
  • Sound technical and operational knowledge of hydropower equipment installation and commissioning,
  • Excellent storage and logistics skills and lookahead planning mentality
  • Good understanding of technical sequence and related material requirements
  • Being customer and people oriented, accountable and solution driven
  • Team player with strong leadership of workforce and subcontractors
  • Fully fluent in English, due to the international team setup additional languages are beneficial

PROJECT INFORMATION

Snowy 2.0 is the next generation of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme, and construction of this major pumped hydro project is well underway.

Once complete, the Scheme will provide 2000 megawatts of dispatchable, on-demand renewable power and approximately 350,000 megawatt hours of large-scale energy storage to the Australian National Electricity Market.
