The Client & Role:

We're currently working with an investment fund client that is looking for a Vendor Manager to join their organisation.

As the Vendor Manager you will be responsible for a combination of IT vendor contract, performance, relationship and risk management of the client's IT vendors.

You must understand contractual, commercial and operational working relationships with IT vendors to ensure effective delivery of committed products, services and solutions.


The role will require assisting with the definition and management of policy and process associated with IT Vendor Management functions, including collaboration with business units and stakeholders who may be responsible for adherence to or execution for policy and process.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist with developing the functional roles and responsibilities for IT Vendor Management
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including IT and business procurement to develop criteria and best practices for IT vendor selection
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining policies, standards and processes for IT vendor interaction
  • Manage the maintenance/enhancement of tools for use in IT Vendor Management, including IT vendor tracking, analytics and performance management tools
  • Manage the collection, consolidation and communication of reporting and data on IT vendor contracts, performance, risk and relationships to key stakeholders and IT vendors
  • Coordinate with IT Operations and IT Security teams to assist in the management and tracking and lifecycle management of software/hardware assets and consumption of cloudbased entitlements
  • Oversee the processing and tracking of renewals and invoice payment
  • Maintain an inventory of IT vendor spend, in collaboration with IT and corporate finance stakeholders by category (software, hardware, telecom, staff augmentation, services), cost centre and region and assist with budgeting cycles.

Required Skills & Specialisms:


  • 35 years' experience in IT Vendor Management.
  • Proven experience in successfully leading a team in the management of vendors/third parties, including, but not limited to, policies, performance, vendor risk, relationships, contracts (including negotiations), and issue and dispute resolution.
  • Experience with IT standards such as ITIL and COBIT is desired, but not required.
  • Understanding and knowledge of investment processes. (preferred)
  • Business acumen, financial metrics and key performance drivers.
  • Broad knowledge of the IT industry and the products and services provided by technology vendors.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory and industry requirements.
  • Working knowledge of contract management and negotiation.
  • Understanding of the IT vendor life cycle (sourcing, procurement, IT vendor management), and how internal roles interact and operate throughout the duration of vendor engagements.
