Role:

Attendance requirement for this position is 2 days per week: Monday & Tuesday 8.00am - 4.00pm.


First Aid

  • Immunisation administration
  • Maintain current first aid certification (CPR and Level 2 First Aid).
  • Update and Medical Management Plans for students (e.g. Anaphylaxis, Asthma, diabetes etc.).
  • Ensure Sick Bay and First Aid Kits are maintained at all times and ensure they are prepared for camps and excursions.
  • Maintain and monitor student medications (i.e. Epipens)
  • Document all incidents on EduSafe and Compass.
  • Follow relevant DET Policies including Anaphylaxis Management, Asthma Management, First Aid, Administration of medication
  • Contact parents and emergency services as required
  • Other First Aid duties as required.

General Office and Admin Support (shared between all Education Support Staff in the General Office):

  • Greeting and screening visitors at the College and arranging interviews as required.
  • Answering phone calls to the College and directing them as appropriate.
  • Maintaining a professional and welcoming area for students, parents, staff and visitors.
  • Accepting and signing for deliveries to the College.
  • Managing and assigning tasks to Duty Monitor students.
  • Ordering special occasion birthday cakes for staff members.
  • Undertake clerical and keyboard duties in support of the school administration function.
  • Provide document preparation support.
  • Maintain, enter and retrieve data from the schools computer systems (Cases 21, Compass, Edupay etc.).
  • Prepare inventories, requisitions and uncomplicated documents.
  • Maintain and update basic written and electronic records.
  • Obtain basic data or factual information from given sources, e.g. websites, books, reports, manuals, catalogues, tables, forms etc.
  • Check for simple inaccuracies in forms and correspondence such as spelling, punctuation and spacing.
  • Make less complex routine entries, e.g. stock movement; file movement, accounts, leave.
  • Make appointments and maintain diary records.
  • Assist in preparation agenda, minutes and documentation for curriculum, resources and school council meetings.
  • Assist with the preparation of staff selection panel documents and administration support for staff interviews.
  • Other duties as directed by the Principal.
Any other duties as directed by the Principal or delegate.


An education support class position at this range will perform tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice, and school policy under supervision and direction.

This may include coordination of other education support class staff within the work area or educational program.


An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of a teacher as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the _Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic)_ or its successor.

Supervision of students can be required individually or in groups up to 4 in controlled circumstances and where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.


Certification and/or qualifications of up to three years can be required at this level (noting that Registered Nurse is not included at this level, the first level for which is Level 1 range 3).


A role at this range may include:

  • Specific support tasks to achieve outcomes. Typically, this will involve accountability for a single function, (e.g. ensuring data is properly maintained) or the co-ordination of a work area under the direction of the principal or a manager.
  • Assisting teachers, within an educational program, by undertaking specific support tasks or the coordination of the support function.
  • Supervised health and wellbeing support tasks, medical intervention support tasks, or other specialised student/teacher support roles (e.g. enrolled nurses performing the role as described in schedule 3). These roles require specific qualifications and/or training, including roles where further training must be undertaken
