The Role

The EL 1 Future Planning Manager - Medium Lift, is an exciting and pivotal role that focusses on the future development of the C-130J Hercules aircraft and their supporting systems for Air Force.


You will draw on your previous knowledge, awareness and experience across logistics, engineering and commercial realms to drive and deliver requirements and outcomes that consider and accommodate the full life cycle of a capability.

This will include effective transition support to new capabilities in addition to providing sustainable support of what currently exists.

To be successful in this role you will

  • Lead and influence integration of future capability requirements and their delivery as discrete activities within a wider Program.
  • Recommend, communicate and provide intelligent analysis that will drive empirical based decision making.
  • Maintain business reform momentum with a continuous improvement focus within a wider Innovation Program.

About our Team

The Air Lift Systems Program Office (ALSPO) at RAAF Base Richmond is a Business Unit within the Airlift and Tanker Systems branch of the Aerospace Systems Division.

ALSPO is the in-service support agency responsible for sustaining and enhancing the RAAF's C-130J Hercules and C-27J Spartan aircraft capabilities for Air Force.


In this role you will enjoy an outwardly engaged environment with multiple complex stakeholder groups from within Defence and wider Industry, whilst working as part of the Hercules Asset Management Unit within ALSPO.


This group is a highly capable and professional team operating in a dynamic and challenging work environment supporting Defence capability.

  • Possess sound commercial and business acumen, with excellent communications as a team player.
