Private Medical Oncology Consultant Positions

GenesisCare has established an integrated cancer care service in Maitland NSW, providing a comprehensive range of oncology, imaging, and allied health services to the people of Maitland and the Hunter Valley.

Located across the road from the new Maitland public hospital, GenesisCare currently supports the practice of 1 Medical Oncologist and 8 Radiation Oncologists, and our on-site service includes direct access to HPS pharmacy, Hunter Imaging Group, and Douglas Hanly-Moir Pathology.

We wish to expand our Medical Oncology practice to complement our busy and growing radiation therapy practice and are looking for one or more full or part-time medical oncologists to cover a broad range of cancer treatments.

Our 7-chair day-treatment centre is available for treatment delivery 5 days per week for ambulatory patients.

Due to the impending retirement of a senior medical oncologist, the Maitland position also offers the opportunity to assume a flourishing, fully operational practice at Lake Macquarie private hospital.

The current practice has a focus on gastrointestinal, head and neck and brain cancers.

We welcome applicants interested in full or part-time consulting, and interest is not limited to the tumour streams described above.

Applicants from outside of the hunter region would have access to the network of contacts and specialists known to our large team of doctors, and there are opportunities to collaborate with our established clinical trials team in clinical and translational research, partake in theranostics service development and to be considered for academic positions at the University of Newcastle.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
Specialist recognition with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and registerable with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner holding specialist registration.
Demonstrated participation in continuing professional development since attaining Fellowship.
