The Opportunity


Student Services & Engagement (SSE) is headed by the Academic Registrar and Director, Student Services and is part of the portfolio of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students) who is responsible for setting the vision and strategic direction for the student experience, student success and retention.


Operating under UniSC's a centre-led approach, you will be responsible for leading and managing the University's centrally scheduled examinations, all activities and processes related to the graduation of students and the associated University Graduation Ceremonies and the academic progression of students including result submission.


You will
- conceptualise, develop and review major procedures, objectives and strategies relating to the University's centrally scheduled examinations, grade finalisation and Review of Final Grade processes, Monitoring Academic Progress processes and all activities and processes related to the graduation of students and the associated University Graduation Ceremonies;
- implement continuous improvement of business processes and effective communication channels in the performance of duties within the scope of the position; and
- lead and manage a team of staff, including the appointment, training and direction of additional casual staff employed for the peak examination and graduation periods.

About you


You will be an experienced strategic leader, with highly developed planning skills and the ability to embed a culture of continuous improvement.

Possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will be capable of effectively manage projects and events including the management of competing priorities, diverse interests, people and workflows to achieve desired results.

Additionally, you pride yourself on your ability to find creative ways to solve problems and display a high degree of professional judgement, including the capability to interpret policy and provide high level advice on matters relating to student and academic administration.


You will possess:

- relevant postgraduate qualifications and extensive experience, or extensive relevant management experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training;
- thorough knowledge of Higher Education Institutions including policy and procedures specifically relating to student and academic administration, or an ability to acquire such knowledge;
- demonstrated experience in leading and managing staff, including the ability to develop and implement appropriate training and skills development for those staff; and
- extensive high-level experie
