About the Job:

This position is a fantastic opportunity for a engaged and enthusiastic Mental Health clinic to make a real impact on the health of the wider Peel community


As a Mental Health Clinician within the Peel Mental Health Service, Extended Care Team you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of Mental Health Professionals.

This includes medical, nursing, allied health and peer work colleagues.


The service is open 7 days per week providing assessment, support and short-term care co-ordination for, Adult Intake, Adult Acute Care in the community and mental health presentations to the Tamworth Hospital Emergency Department.


  • You will be supported by the Line Manager and Professional Leads, through regular governance meetings, regular structured clinical supervision, and professional development.
  • As a successful applicant, you will have experience working in a mental health setting with the ability to work across the lifespan with the Emergency Care component providing to assessments across the life span.
  • In your role, you will support patients and their families and carers to ensure clinical interventions and service delivery processes are understood and enable patients to make informed decisions in relation to their health needs.
  • Your high level of communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build strong professional relationships with key stakeholders will be essential to your success in this role.

Where you'll be working:


  • Peel Mental Health Service Extended Care Team provide acute communitybased care, including acute assessment via in reach to the Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital Emergency Department.
  • This team sits within the wider Peel Mental Health Service which is a contemporary and innovative service that is responsible for the provision of mental health assessment and treatment across the communities of the Peel sector.
  • The service maintains a strong clinical governance structure to ensure the provision of high quality, excellent mental health care for every patient, every time.
  • The team is passionate about leading change and innovation in the delivery of ambulatory mental health services and has a strong leadership team which consists of multidisciplinary roles and offers a number of different supports which will complement you in this role.

**All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA).
