The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) has diverse responsibilities for transport systems and services, infrastructure planning and provision within South Australia.


Duties

The Principal Project Officer is accountable to Manager Legislative Services/Unit Manager Legislation/Unit Manager Law Reform and is part of the management and decision-making team within Legislative Services and will play a key role in the operation of the section.

The Principal Project Officer will be responsible for the delivery of the section's diverse functions, including legislative governance and delivering modern regulatory reform.


A key focus is to assist in delivering programs of complex legislative reform through the Parliamentary process, and effectively leading and motivating a high performing team.


The Legislative Services Section manages a range of strategic legal and legislation projects including legislation projects associated with the various Acts and Regulations administered by the Department.

As part of the Legal, Commercial and Assurances Services Directorate, the Principal Project Officer will contribute to the objective of providing advice and supporting the department's legal and legislative obligations and improve the commercial capability of the department.


Requirements:

A tertiary qualification in law or other relevant discipline is desirable.

Previous experience in similar role.


Special Conditions
Attendance may be required on Public Holidays and over the Christmas New Year period.

Attendance at Parliament to assist the passage of legislation may be required.

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel may be required.


Tenure of Vacancy
Temporary appointment up to 12 months


Remuneration
ASO7 - $104,938 to $113,435 per annum
