About the Team
This role is an integral part of AIG's Portfolio Solutions Leadership Team in Australia and reports to the Head of Portfolio Solutions.
About the role
This position is located in Melbourne.
The role has overall accountability for the development and implementation of AIG's SME distribution & sales enablement strategy, aligned to the SME Package Underwriting Strategy and Business Plan.
Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:
- Develop and lead AIG's SME Package distribution strategy to achieve a diversified intermediary partner network; in collaboration with the Client & Broker Engagement (C&BE) function, execute the SME Commercial Lines sales enablement plan
- Define and deliver the SME Package Customer Value Proposition (CVP) and articulate AIG's 'Right to Win' in the SME segment; ensure all SME Commercial Lines Underwriters have a clear understanding of AIG's value proposition and righttowin in the SME segment
- Broker presentations & training develop sales presentations using the SME playbook and other relevant product collateral; develop training programs to increase utilisation of AIG's proprietary ecommerce platform (Transact)
- Develop sales training & coaching programs for SME Underwriters; leverage existing AIG programs to create a common sales language and framework
- In collaboration with the Client & Broker Engagement function, drive intermediary engagement with SME intermediary partners / networks; coordinate SME Package broker engagement plan including attendance at SME broker conferences, expos & professional development days
- Work with key intermediary partners to maximise SME Package scheme/facility and affinity opportunities; and leverage multiline scheme/facility opportunities across SME Commercial Lines
- In collaboration with the Portfolio Solutions Analytics team, develop/enhance SME Broker Performance Scorecards including metrics on Submission volumes, Quote rates, Bind rates, Renewal Retention Rates, Cancellation rates and Receivables / Aged debtors
What we're looking for:
- Professional / technical skills and experience
- Tertiary/industry qualifications in a relevant discipline would be highly regarded
- Extensive knowledge of, and experience in, SME commercial lines underwriting
- Experience in working in a matrixed general insurance organisation
- Organizational leadership experience
- Prior sales development experience
- ANZIIF insurance qualification or equivalent preferred
- Sound Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong leadership skills ability to drive a culture of service & sales excellence
- Strong interpersonal skills particularly collaboration and engagement
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact and influence
- Strong team player
- Willingness and desire to learn
