An exciting opportunity exists to join the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department at Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital.

Where you'll be working:

Shoalhaven Hospital is a busy rural hospital which employs over 1,000 staff and is the main acute care hospital for the Shoalhaven region, providing emergency care, medical, surgical and orthopaedic services.

Shoalhaven Hospital has an Intensive Care Unit focusing on high dependency and coronary patients, Children's Ward and Maternity Unit as well as a purpose-built regional Cancer Care Centre and sub-acute Mental Health Unit.

What you'll be doing
To deliver effective medical care in the area of obstetrics and gynaecology under the supervision of specialist staff.

The clinical care will be delivered with consultation and inclusion of the multidisciplinary team within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.

This position is based at Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital and supports pre-requisites for future training positions with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment
Preparedness and ability to participate in afterhours overtime and standby rosters
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and moderate computer skills
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary framework
Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self education
A professional attitude and flexibility in work role
Minimum two year's postgraduate experience
