About this role:

Our client is a mid-sized architecture practice in a growth phase.

Established 10 years ago, they're now ready to take on a general manager to help steer the ship:

manage and run the operational, and financial reporting and contribute to the strategic business planning of their practice through the current expansion and into the future.


You will be required to drive the management and operations of the business, staff recruitment, and practice management in collaboration with the directors.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the continued success of the studio while also helping to shape and craft the role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice, detail markups and coordination help across all phases of projects Understand, uphold and promote company values
  • Promote and maintain good working and cultural relationships both within the group and with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
  • Implement and drive agreed strategies to achieve company goals
  • Contribute to and drive collaboration across all disciplines of the practice
  • Minimse any risks to the company
  • New Business take a lead role when representing the firm to identify target clients and project opportunities
  • Business, Project and Financial Management
  • Provide training and mentoring to team leaders in fee proposals, contract reviews and negotiations.
  • Track and report on the management of QA and documentation checking
  • Ongoing review and optimisation of business supply chain; legal, financial, insurance etc
  • Drive innovation throughout all levels.

Skills and Experience

  • Degree qualification in Architecture preferred but not essential
  • 15+ years of experience within commercial architecture practices
  • Outstanding communication, reporting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to respectfully provide constructive criticism, influence outcomes, and handle pressure situations
  • Effective timemanagement skills
  • Technically savvy with office management and project management software systems
