We are currently working in partnership with a State Government department.

They are looking to for a Divisional Procurement Advisor and Category Manager to join their Strategic Procurement branch in the Finance Division.


About the role:


This role is accountable for the delivery of end-to-end procurement for the department, including category management, sourcing, and contract management.

This role requires someone with a strong customer focus, self-directed, proactive and is comfortable working across boundaries.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide expert procurement and commercial advice to executive and senior management, undertaking negotiation and issue resolution with suppliers and developing appropriate mitigation strategies to manage supply risk.
  • Undertake all aspects of end to end divisional and organisational procurement support requirements.
  • Develop best practice, strategic procurement plans for assigned divisions that aligns to operational budgets, strategies, and policy.
  • Deliver and implement key sourcing and demand management initiatives.
  • Undertake systematic analysis from diverse sources of data to recommend and report on key demand management initiatives to generate savings and unlock efficiencies.
  • Develop subcategory plans that align to Statewide category planning and drive improved performance across the department including consideration of rationalisation, risk, and supplier diversity.
  • Establish clear project plans for key initiatives, manage, and report on project performance.

About you:

  • Vaccinated against COVID1
  • At least five years of relevant procurement experience including significant category planning, sourcing, and contract management.
  • Combination of procurement experience within government and health is high regarded.
