Our National client is a Family orientated company with over 150 trucks moving across the country between clients and their own Warehouses.

ob Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced National Fleet Maintenance Manager to join our team.

As the National Fleet Maintenance Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring our heavy vehicle fleet's compliance with Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), NHVAS, WAHVA and Chain of Responsibility Management Plan.

You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of fleet maintenance, commissioning, and decommissioning, ensuring that our vehicles are safe, reliable, and meet all legal requirements.

Remuneration: 120k-130k + superannuation


Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Management: Manage the execution, direction, and coordination of all maintenance activities for our national fleet, with a focus on safety and reliability.

Heavy Vehicle Compliance: Actively drive compliance with Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL),NHVAS, WAHVA and the Chain of Responsibility Management Plan, ensuring that our fleet operates within the legal framework.


Duties and Responsibilities:

As the Heavy Vehicle National Fleet Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for:


  • Fleet Maintenance: Manage company fleet maintenance, including keeping up to date gearbox (maintenance and repair).

Process Implementation: Implement and monitor processes and procedures to ensure compliance and safety.

Audits: Schedule and conduct random and targeted vehicle and driver audits to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Vehicle Inspection: Inspect heavy vehicles to ensure compliance with HVNL,NHVAS, WAHVA

Prestart Reviews & Faults Reports: Review daily drivers' prestart inspections to identify and rectify any issues promptly. Facilitate face-to-face discussions with drivers to address equipment issues and concerns, issuing non-conformance as necessary and following up on required actions.

Investigations: Facilitate and lead investigations related to maintenance and compliance issues.

Documentation: Keep up-to-date registers and prepare reports on maintenance and compliance activities.

Safety Culture: Maintain and build a safety culture within the team, ensuring adherence to safety standards and best practices.

Regulatory Knowledge: Stay updated on Main Roads and traffic legislation, ensuring compliance with road traffic regulations.

Process Improvement: Develop and improve processes to meet compliance and quality targets, providing feedback on operating system development.

Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as safe work practices and WHS procedures in line with government legislation.

Corporate Responsibility: Work in accordance with the principles of our Corporate Responsibility policy.

Management System: Work in accordance with the principles of the Coolway Trans Management System, ensuring all controls, policies, procedures, and guidelines are adhered to, including National Heavy Vehicle and COR.

Problem Solving: Exhibit the ability to problem-solve and think on your feet to address maintenance and compliance challenges.

Develop and implement standard operational standards to maintain vehicles by advocating best practices in industry.

Plan, process and execute vehicle purchase and vehicle replacement through efficient settlement.

Qualifications and Experience:
at least 1 year of work experience in a similar role
