About this position

The City's Health and Compliance Team is currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Environmental Health Officer to join the team in a newly created position.

This position requires close interaction with members of the community including business owner/operators.

Daily tasks require a sound understanding of public health and pollution control legislation, food hygiene and safety standards, environmental health practice and a good understanding of emerging trends in all of these areas.

What we are looking for
To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:

Strong organisational and customer service skills that will assist you in investigating environmental health related complaints and taking appropriate enforcement action to reach a resolution.
An ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience as an Environmental Health Officer.

Essential requirements

Current driver's licence.
Environmental Health Officer qualification (as required by Section 18 of the Public Health Act 2016), and relevant experience.
Noise authorisation under the Environmental Protection Act.
