About this position


The City's Health and Compliance Team is currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Environmental Health Officer to join the team in a newly created position.

This position requires close interaction with members of the community including business owner/operators.

Daily tasks require a sound understanding of public health and pollution control legislation, food hygiene and safety standards, environmental health practice and a good understanding of emerging trends in all of these areas.


What we are looking for
To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong organisational and customer service skills that will assist you in investigating environmental health related complaints and taking appropriate enforcement action to reach a resolution.
  • An ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience as an Environmental Health Officer.

Essential requirements

  • Current driver's licence.
  • Environmental Health Officer qualification (as required by Section 18 of the Public Health Act 2016), and relevant experience.
  • Noise authorisation under the Environmental Protection Act.
