About the Team


The Cyber team consists of a Cyber Team Lead, Senior Underwriter and Underwriting Associate and is part of the broader Financial Lines team.

The position will report to the Cyber Team Lead.


About the role


AIG's underwriters develop insurance solutions that address the exposures of companies and individuals, and embody AIG's tradition of innovation, bringing to market groundbreaking insurance solutions for our changing world.

AIG's underwriters help to find insurance solutions for risks from a range of areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients and High Net Worth individuals.


This is a key role for an individual to drive profitable growth in growing market by taking responsibility for Cyber underwriting excellence.

You will be expected to strengthen existing client relationships and develop new ones to achieve expected growth and profit.


What you need to know

Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:

  • Maintain accurate files, registers and records to contribute to management reporting and timely service and policy issuance
  • Underwrite new and renewal Cyber business in accordance with underwriting guidelines, relevant underwriting authority and AIG principles
  • Complete Policy transactions on AIG platforms
  • Ensure the maintenance/development of solid working relationships with existing/new producing brokers
  • Attend client/broker functions when required
  • Ensure client service metrics as agreed by Profit Centre and/or Shared Services are adhered to
  • Support Senior Underwriters on large complex accounts.

What we're looking for:


  • Preferably experience in cyber underwriting, broking or information security though broader financial lines experience would also be highly regarded
  • Interest in Information Technology and Cyber Security
  • Analytical skills are required to manage the profitability of brokers in conjunction with the Financial Lines management and existing professional relationships with brokers
  • A capacity to manage and develop broker relationships, highly collaborative approach and excellent communication & presentation skills
  • Highly dedicated and eager to fully grasp an excellent opportunity.
  • Teamwork: work closely with one another and support one another
