Salary Range:
$93,976 - $106,713 + Attractive Superannuation


The Department of Veterans' Affairs, Financial Operations Directorate is looking for a Project Officer to assist with the implementation of a new Financial Management Information Systems, Technology One in 2024.


The Financial Operations Directorate is responsible for ensuring a high-quality financial environment for the department through robust governance and processes and by providing accurate and timely guidance on financial operational matters.

The Directorate delivers accounts payable and receivable, treasury management, financial systems administration, travel and purchase card management.


Duties

  • Support Directors across the branch in projectrelated activities.
  • Coordinating regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
  • Create and maintain written material including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), plans, executive briefs and corporate documentation.
  • Develop and update intranet resources to disseminate project information and best practices.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops sessions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with ANAO auditing standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Provide assistance to Accounts Payable/Receivable, Treasury and Travel areas.
  • Manage prioritisation of own workloads, ensuring work activities are completed to agreed timeframes and standard, undertake quality assurance reviews of information and work, and ensuring quality customer service and advice.
  • Build rapport and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations and collaboration.

A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.


Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to 12 months.
