On behalf of our client which is a well established organisation in Brisbane's inner north, we are seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join a supportive and collaborative team.

The Behaviour Support Practitioner will work with clients and their families/caregivers completing behaviour assessments of clients in order to determine functions of behaviour and develop appropriate strategies to reduce risk and improve safety in the area of restrictive practice.


Key Responsibilities

  • Completing all necessary case management reporting and recordkeeping for individual clients supported in behaviour support.
  • Complete behaviour assessments of clients in order to determine functions of behaviour and develop appropriate strategies to reduce risk and improve safety.
  • Provide induction and ongoing professional development support to Consultants
  • Assist implementation of professional development activities for Consultants
  • Provide skilled services utilising the seven capability domains of interim response, functional assessment, planning, implementation, know it works, restrictive practice, and continuing professional development and supervision.
  • Independently develop Behavioural Support Plans including those involving Specialist Behaviour Intervention Support and register them with NDIS
  • Responsible implementation of therapy plans involving restrictive practices.
  • Partnering with staff to provide case management support to customers and staff using a positive behaviour support approach to all aspects of service delivery.
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualised and evidencebased behaviour intervention strategies and processes

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications (or working towards) in allied health professions such as Behaviour Science, Applied Behaviour Analysis, Psychology, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Social Sciences equivalent experience relevant to positive behaviour support
  • A passion for working with people with a disability we love what we do and only hire staff who have that same drive
  • Experience working in an NDIS community setting is always a big plus but not a dealbreaker we just need someone with experience working clients with a disability.
  • Knowledge of case management practice within a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NDIS standards and practices to ensure an organisation meets its legislative and mandatory reporting and approval responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of behaviour support services to individuals with disabilities who display complex support needs.

Remuneration Package
A Salary package of up to $115K + 11% Super + Salary Sacrifice P.A (depending on speciality and experience)
