Shape the future of pathology in Victoria through the implementation of a new Laboratory information System (LIS):


  • Full Time role, 21-month fixed term contract:

$110k - $130k depending on skills and experience, 5 weeks annual leave, additional monthly paid day off and salary packaging available

Your new role:


  • The Victorian Department of Health is investing and strengthening public pathology in Victoria. A key enabler is of a more integrated and sustainable model of pathology delivery is a common Laboratory Information System (LIS).
  • This position is part of the Pathology Network West (PNW), LISConnect team who will implement a LIS to service the Parkville medical precinct over a 21month period.
  • As
    Lead Applications Analyst
  • Billing, you will leverage your prior experience of Enterprise Billing, Laboratory or Health Information Systems to enable the implementation of the pathology billing system. As the Lead, you will coach and manage a team of applicant analysts and work with SMEs, stakeholders and vendors to problem solve and achieve the optimum system outcomes.
    About you:
  • You have experience leading and/or managing complex change programs, and coaching and supporting a team.
  • You bring experience in the implementation of an Enterprise Billing, Laboratory or Health Information systems. It is highly desirable to have experience in the administration of solutions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial reporting and processes to support month end and annual reporting.
  • Experience in complex endtoend projects from requirements to implementation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field for role (e.g., Lab Science, Health Information Management, Finance) and/or equivalent experience with patient billing.

  • As part of the overarching pathology reforms, the pathology services from the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the Royal Women's Hospital and the Royal Children's Hospital will through a change process that is in progress transition to a new separate public pathology entity. The new model for delivering public pathology services will present an exciting opportunity to improve the scope, scale and reach of pathology services and testing capability to all Victorians.
