Are you passionate about leading people, ensuring our waterways are protected now and into the future and making a positive difference for customers, community, and the natural environment? We're looking for an experienced, purpose driven Treatment Plant Operations Manager to join our team.


The Role


Reporting into Kristen Knight, Divisional Manager, Operations, you'll lead a large team to drive the delivery of exemplary service to our customers and the environment through the safe and efficient operation of Yarra Valley Water's sewage and recycled water treatment plant assets, to meet defined levels of customer service, regulatory, and environmental performance.

You'll be working in our Distribution Services Group, a fast paced, dynamic and rewarding operational environment, where we work together to ensure essential water and sanitation services are delivered to our customers and community day in day out.

We do this through high quality asset management practices, operational resilience, great partnerships and highly responsive customer service delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver service to customers through the safe and efficient operation of YVW's sewage and recycled water treatment plants
  • Development and leadership of a large, multidisciplinary and geographically diverse team
  • Organisational wide leadership for long term improvements in operational excellence, field safety and environmental performance
  • Ensure compliance with principlesbased legislation and operating licences/regulations

About you


We are looking for someone with great relationship building skills, a passion for leading people and a continuous improvement mindset.

Engineering experience is valued, but not essential.

  • Ability to quickly build working rapport with direct reports, peers and leadership teams
  • Comfortable working in, and guiding others through, ambiguity
  • Comfortable working with both principlesbased legislation and black and white operating licences/regulation
  • Make high quality decisions, even under pressure
