Investment and Technology is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning, and is responsible for providing investment strategy and to deliver commercial and information technology services to drive high performance and improved commercial outcomes for the State.


About the Role


The Cloud Principal Lead will collaborate with Solution Architects to establish the design principles for managing the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) public cloud environments.

This will include aligning cloud technology adoption to the DTP standards, policies, and governance controls as well as developing the framework to allow delivery teams to establish services which meet stakeholder demands.


Key Accountabilities

Standard Operating Procedures - Ability to effectively develop standards, policy and patterns pertaining to public cloud services.

Expert Advice - Ability to provide consultancy advice to internal and business stakeholders regarding public cloud services.

Innovation - Ability to adopt the latest public cloud innovations as applicable to DoT services.

DoT Representation - The incumbent is able to effectively represent the team in partner / supplier contract discussions with vendor and service managers.

Subject Matter Expert - The incumbent is able to effectively represent operational interests in various DoT and Whole of Victorian Government design authorities regarding cloud services.

Effective People Leadership - The Cloud Principal Lead is providing effective leadership, people management and support to their team. Staff are engaged with high levels of cohesion and commitment and are delivering on the services required.
