Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 3-4 of EBA- 9 day fortnight

  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.

About our opportunity


As part of our People Experience team, the People & Culture Officers provide specialised HR advice and support to the business on matters that relate to the employee lifecycle.

As a People & Culture Officer and member of the People Experience team you will:

  • Support our Business Partners to provide human resource advice and support to leaders and team members in relation to performance management, organisational design and other matters related to the end to end employee lifecycle.
  • Interpret awards, industrial instruments and legislation to provide timely and appropriate advice and support to leaders and employees.
  • Proactively provide coaching and training to leaders and team members on internal policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the effective, impartial and timely management of employee relations matters, escalating them within the team as appropriate.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and work in a collaborative team environment to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of human resources advice to leaders and team members.
  • Support with data analysis, including the preparation, analysis and interpretation of reports as required.
  • Partner with the broader People, Culture and Safety team to support the development and delivery of special projects as required to deliver the People strategy.

About you
Experienced in HR, you will hit the ground running to join an established team of HR professionals. You'll be confident in building relationships across the Council and delivering pragmatic people solutions in a dynamic environment.

You will be someone who thrives in an environment where you are able to problem solve and deliver advice and support while building strong, trusted relationships at all levels.

Additionally, you will have:

  • Sound knowledge and experience providing generalist human resources advice in medium to large organisations.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, including the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions
  • Highlevel interpersonal skills to deliver advice, coaching and guidance with a strong focus on providing quality customer service to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Strong people and relationship management skills with the ability to positively work in a team environment communicating and engaging effectively at all levels of the organisation.
