YOUR ROLE


This is a brand-new role responsible for assisting the Business unit to underwrite and process Property business in order to achieve profit, growth and retention targets in line with the strategic objectives.


This is an excellent opportunity to make the move into the world of underwriting and make a positive impact with our broking partners.

You will be provided with training and guidance whilst developing your underwriting knowledge to become an experienced member of the team.

Career progression will certainly be an option for the right person.


This a full-time permanent opportunity and would be suitable for recent graduates, or those interested in pursuing a career in insurance.

We're looking for applicants based in
Melbourne.

**Your key responsibilities are:
- **Process and manage Property Policy adjustments, new business and renewals


Primarily accountable for assisting in the underwriting of renewal and new business risks by providing processing, administrative, and underwriting support whilst operating within specific risk acceptance authorities and guidelines.


Process requests include:

  • Policy inception, renewal, endorsement and lapse transactions via internal and broker platforms;
  • Updating data collection systems;
  • Generation and distribution of claims reports to internal and external customers;
  • Credit Control;
  • Data entry and analysis;
  • Generate engineering service requests.
  • Operate within team structures and workflow systems.

Portfolio Performance


The role is accountable for assisting the Business Unit in achieving renewal retention, and profitability targets in accordance with business objectives by actively assisting Underwriters, Lead Underwriters & Managers with day to day Policy Management.


Business Plan Objectives
To contribute to the achievement of annual performance objectives set for the Business Unit by:

  • By providing feedback on market pricing
  • Identifying competitor activity and providing feedback
  • By being reliable and focused in delivering delegated tasks

Manage and resolve credit services issues.
To support Credit Services in the collection of outstanding premium

  • Resolve Credit Services enquiries on a timely basis.
  • Action monthly credit control reports.
  • Consult with customers on credit issue.

Customer Relationships


This role is accountable for building and maintaining relationships with intermediaries and maintaining the CGU profile in the market place to assist with new business sales and renewal retention rates.


  • Attend external customer meetings as required.
  • Attend engineering surveys.

ABOUT YOU

  • Willing to ask questions and explore new ideas.
  • Eager to learn and improve technical skills.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication, collaboration and influencing skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sound analytical and judgement skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with all relevant stakeholders
  • Selfstarter who is willing to take the initiative.
  • Tertiary Degree/Diploma/Certificate
  • Insurance qualification at ANZIIF Associate level or Tertiary qualification in related financial field
