The Role:

Our client is a global Telecommunications organisation on the lookout for a PSN Commissioning Technician.

The role is key in the Critical Communications Expansion Plan (CCEP) and responsible for the successful commissioning and integration of new Public Safety Network (PSN) sites and services and for delivery of minor project work.


The role will take ownership of project deliverables, including commissioning, testing and reporting of outcomes and will work closely with our customer and construction partners as well as internal stakeholders.


Your Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for completing onsite configuration/testing of Motorola P25 system along with subsidiary equipment such as (but not limited to) DC power, backhaul network and RF monitoring systems.
  • Responsible for conducting Post Construction (PC) quality audits to ensure the site build conforms with design and agreed standards
  • Escalate or flag issues to the integration team and project manager/s as required.
  • Responsible for ensuring all requirements for postconstruction testing activities are completed and records are updated and provided accurately as and when required.
  • Develop, review, and enhance processes and technical documentation, assist with the management of engineering documentation.
  • Provide internal progress reports, end of day reports and other reports as required by management.

About You:


  • Postqualification experience in an operational or technical environment with P25 Radio / Telecommunications networks.
  • Telecommunications: technical proficiency.
  • Current drivers' licence and ability and willingness to travel long distances and in remote regions in accordance with the demands of the position, ability to operate a 4WD vehicle and willingness to obtain Defensive Driver and Trailer Towing competencies.
