APS5 Data Administrator (3 Vacancies)


About the team - Application Infrastructure Branch
The Application Infrastructure Branch is responsible for the provisioning and support of effective and efficient IT services. This includes managing the technology, tools and software needed to deliver these services to our customers.


We provide value to our business by focusing on service stability through resolving service issues, fixing problems, providing advanced monitoring solutions, and performing routine operational maintenance.


Tenure
The roles are full-time, non-ongoing/ongoing, non-ongoing contracts for up to 18 months.


Location of role
These roles are located in Canberra, ACT

**What you will do

Database Administrator describes the function which supports the delivery of technical landscape design, installation, configuration, deployment, technical security and operation of ICT components and databases.


As a Database Administrator, you will work as part of a multi-skilled team.

Duties may include some or all of the following
:


  • Monitor and maintain ICT software, and assist with system tests under supervision of senior staff
  • Help define and operate backup, high availability and disaster recovery solutions for ICT systems
  • Perform the administration and operation of the database solution
  • Perform technical operations for ICT solutions and interfaces
  • Assist with maintenance of technical system information in service tools
  • Assist with daily monitoring activities including load testing and performance
  • Assist with problem management and root cause analysis
  • Support technical change management
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of ICT related legislation, policy and processes
  • Prepare draft documentation for review by senior staff
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective and timely implementation of ticket resolution
  • Exercise delegation in accordance with legislation and guidelines.

  • Have practical and advanced experience working with data and coding, in particular data extraction techniques using different products and languages including Structured Query Language (SQL), Python, R, SAS and advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Are interested in or have studied and unders
