An award-winning investment bank, focussed on building long-term relationships with multi-national corporations and large financial institutions.

Providing strong advisory expertise capitalising on their mergers & acquisitions, debt, and equity expertise to deliver integrated solutions to their top tier clients.

The group provides investment banking services including execution of strategic advisory and capital market transactions to clients across the globe region.

They have been a leader in this area for some time now and have driven landmark transactions in M&A and capital markets.

The opportunity

Our client wishes to appoint an Associate III or Vice President to their high-performing group of talented bankers.

As integral part of the Natural Resources team, you will provide support to senior leaders in managing client advisory mandates and harnessing relationships in the coverage sector.

Key responsibilities include:

Active participation in transaction teams
Building and managing development of detailed financial models
Preparation of pitch materials
Managing due diligence processes
Management of datarooms
Engagement with client and other advisors in transaction related workstreams
Coordinating and instructing junior staff
Project management activities

Key relationships:

Transaction team
Transaction Managing Director or Director
External advisers of the client; Accountants, Lawyers, Technical Consultants etc.

About you

Bachelor of commerce, law, and/or science
Related post graduate qualification in finance, mining and/or energy economics
Experience managing transaction teams on a full range of advisory mandates (m&a/project finance/ecm)
Highly organised, motivated, and driven individual
Minimum of 6 years' experience with an investment bank, private equity, or inhouse M&A team
Possess well developed analytical skills, high intelligence and commercial acumen
Experience and/or strong interest in the natural resources sector
