About the Role:


We are seeking a PR professional with a journalism background and an extensive network within Australia's media landscape to join the Marketing team as an Internal PR Senior Manager.


With a dynamic roadmap of marketing campaigns and product launches, we need an internal PR expert to elevate our clients visibility, establish brand credibility, position thought leaders in renewable energy, and drive new customer growth.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for a former journalist looking to transition in-house and shape the narrative of one of Australia's most disruptive start-ups and fastest-growing energy retailers.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement the clients PR strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Cultivate relationships with Tier 1 TV, radio, and print media outlets, with a focus on securing TV coverage.
  • Create compelling pitches for various Australian media platforms, highlighting our distinctive energy model.
  • Utilise internal data to craft newsworthy stories for media consumption.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to stay informed about new product development and leverage unique PR opportunities.
  • Manage media briefings, spokespeople training, and prepare Amber team members and customers for media opportunities.
  • Transition PR efforts from external agency to an inhouse model, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

Key Requirements:


  • Essential journalist background.
  • 35 years of experience at Tier 1 TV media or radio or print, with a deep understanding of crafting pitches for different Australian media.
  • Current and uptodate network with Australian journalists at Tier 1 media.
  • Strong copywriting skills and ability to craft press releases and other written communications.
  • Experience interpreting and using data to build unique narratives and insights for newsworthy stories.
  • Proven startup experience, having transitioned from media into the corporate world.
