About the role
This is a
permanent,
full-time, Monday to Friday 7.00 am to 4.00 pm position working
38 hours per week. This position is located at the
2 McIntyre Way, Bomaderry

Duties
Reporting directly to the Biosecurity Coordinator, the focus of this position is to:

  • Always represent Council in a professional manner when dealing with the public and other Council employees.
  • Carry out property inspections to identify the type and extent of priority weeds present.
  • Liaise with property owners to identify priority weeds on their property, recommend appropriate control measures and advise of the outcome of the inspection either verbally or by written report.
  • Report and make recommendations on results of property inspections to the Biosecurity Coordinator for approval of actions to be taken and regularly submit inspection reports.
  • Gather and, if necessary, present legal evidence that will be admissable to court in the case of legal proceedings.
  • Undertake weed control on Councilmanaged land such as roadsides, parks and sportsfields.
  • Undertake pest animal control on Council managed land.

Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • Class C Driver's Licence.
  • Certificate III in Horticulture, Agriculture or Conservation and Land Management (or equivalent).
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)
