    Our biodiversity team of over 30 ecologists is known for our wide-ranging and extensive technical expertise and our robust biodiversity assessments. Our services are in high demand and continue to grow on the back of new and exciting projects, including within the renewable energy, infrastructure, and resource sectors. At all times, our goal is to use our expertise to provide specialist advice to balance development, impact avoidance and offsetting results that achieve the best possible environmental outcome.

    To support this growth, we are seeking a Senior Ecologist based in our Teralba (Newcastle) office. Our ideal candidate would have previous experience as an ecological consultant, and have sound ecological survey, reporting and assessment skills. You would have a passion for field work and a drive for delivering high quality outcomes.     About you

    We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Ecologist with 5+ years of experience who has:

    • A degree/post-graduate qualification in environmental science, botany, zoology, environmental science (or similar).
    • Terrestrial flora and/or fauna survey experience, including the capacity to plan surveys and coordinate field teams.
    • Demonstrated experience in project managing medium and large-scale development and/or biodiversity offsetting projects.
    • An ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders including clients, government agencies and fellow team members.
    • Demonstrated experience in the collection and interpretation of ecological and spatial data.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience in preparing and reviewing reports. Willingness to take responsibility for delivery of reports to final quality.
    • A high level of motivation and self-direction.
    • Be willing to work flexible hours and travel for work.
    • Prior experience and demonstrated knowledge of the Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) will be highly regarded.
