Clerk Grade 7/8 (Salary $101,947 - $112,849 per annum + Super) + Leave Loading + Accrued flex time

Duration:
Temporary 12 months with possible extension or become ongoing (and potential future opportunities becoming available)

About the team - Advanced Analytics

The Advanced Analytics team manages some of Australia's largest data assets, providing valuable insights and support to our highly skilled intelligence analysts.

Our team is at the forefront of data analytics-led risk-based regulation, using cutting-edge techniques and technologies to extract meaningful information from vast amounts of data.


Key responsibilities

  • Develop and establish databases, data collection systems, and data analytics strategies that adhere to best practices and industry standards to optimise statistical efficiency and data quality
  • Design and implement data pipelines to collect, link, and process data from primary or secondary sources, enabling efficient interpretation and analysis for business problemsolving
  • Implement data filtering and cleaning techniques to locate and validate accurate data subsets, ensuring the quality and reliability of source data for analysis
  • Generate reports, visualisations, and actionable recommendations based on processed data, presenting them in a clear and comprehensible format for the target audience

Key challenges

  • Managing diverse data sources: Integrating, cleaning, and harmonising data from a variety of sources, formats, and systems to ensure consistent and reliable information for analysis and decisionmaking
  • Scaling data infrastructure: Designing and maintaining scalable data infrastructure to accommodate increasing volumes of data, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency while minimsing costs
  • Staying up to date with technology: Continuously learning and adapting to new data analytics tools, technologies, and best practices to ensure the most effective and innovative solutions are implemented in the role

To be successful you will have:

  • Strong technical skills: Proficiency in data analytics tools, programming languages such as Python and SQL
  • Problemsolving mindset: A keen ability to analyse complex problems, identify root causes, and develop innovative solutions that address data analytics challenges and improve overall processes
  • Excellent communication skills: The capacity to articulate technical concepts, findings, and recommendations to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders, fostering understanding and collaboration across teams
