My Client, The HVG group of companies is a privately owned Australian business that import and distribute building façade products, engineered stone, graphics media, performance fabrics and decorative building products.

HVG also manufactures melamine panels and cabinet doors.


A dynamic growing organisation, HVG comprises more than 230 staff located over 40,000 square metres of factory, warehouse and office space in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, and Perth.


About the Role

HVG currently have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager, wanting to take the next step in their career to join the NSW team based in Turrella, Sydney.


Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the sales and customer service teams, you will lead and manage the NSW operations team, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse.

You will be confident in your ability to work and communicate effectively with your team as well as internal and external customers and stakeholders.

You will be able to work well under pressure and prioritise competing tasks whilst always maintaining an exceptional level of team operation.


Duties & Responsibilities

A summary of the duties and responsibilities includes:

  • Ensuring the safe and efficient distribution of a range of products in line with customer and business expectations.
  • Identifying and implementing strategies to improve safety and tightly manage costs.
  • Managing inventory with stock management protocols including stock takes, stock rotation, stock adjustments, conversions, batch number maintenance and allocations.
  • Management of a team of 14, including recruitment, selection, induction, training, developing, coaching and onthejob training, leading to a cohesive and united team.
  • Management of freight contractors to ensure best service and cost outcomes.
  • Site management with excellent housekeeping awareness.
  • Report and analyse operations service levels and KPIs provided by the organisation back to the CEO.
  • Learn about the organisation's products and services and keep up to date with changes while leading and implementing training programs to maintain expertise in the operations team.

Skills & Experience

To succeed in this role, you will have a genuine passion for operations and be driven to deliver on business strategies and goals.

You will have demonstrated experience in an operations environment while looking to utilise those skills in a dynamic and fast paced environment.


The required skills and experience include:

  • 3+ years warehouse and/or operations management.
  • A strong OH&S orientation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Superior organisation and time management skills; and
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fastpaced environment.
  • Tertiary education in logistics or similar would be highly regarded
