Finance Operational Risk & Control (FORC) is responsible for embedding CBA's Operational Risk Management Framework within Financial Services.

We are responsible for Group Finance operational risk governance, risk identification and mitigation, central compliance monitoring and analysis (issues, incidents and Key Risk Indicators), escalation, reporting and training.

Other key activities include facilitating Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and management of the Control Assurance Program (CAP) across Group Finance teams.

This role's impact and contribution includes but is not limited to:

  • Driving strong risk culture and awareness within Group Finance, and proactively and effectively managing the risks, controls, incidents and issues in the profile.
  • Developing strong relationships across the Group built on integrity and trust.

On any given day you will:

  • Responsible for ensuring risks are profiled and captured in the Group Finance Business Profile (RCSA) and updated when trigger events occur.
  • Manage control development, assessments, testing and scheduling in the Group Finance Business. Profile and provide advice and guidance in accordance with the risk management framework.
  • Oversee and guide others to conduct root cause analysis of issues and incidents, and manage issues and incidents to conclusion.
  • Analyse new policies and procedures and discuss the impacts and insights with the broader Group Finance team.
  • Responsible for the data quality in various databases (including RiskInSite) and monthly risk reporting (including at the Group Finance Non-Financial Risk Committee (NFRC)).
  • Contribute to the annual Compliance Self-Assessment for Obligations within the Business Profile.
  • Support Line 2 and Line 3 assurance activities and assist with adhoc deliverables to support the EGM Group Finance.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Experience in financial services line 1 operational risk or audit role.
  • Sound understanding and demonstrated competence of risk and compliance management policies and frameworks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to challenge the status quo whilst balancing the needs of various stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to distil key messages.
