Research Assistant
- _Salary: $90,067 to $102,192 (Plus Superannuation)_
- _Fixed term role for 12 months_
- _Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)_
- _Usual work location: _Benalla or Melbourne CBD _(flexibility may be available)_


The Team
The position of Research Assistant forms a part of the Strategy and Research branch within the Game Management Authority.


The Role


To ensure that game hunting in Victoria is carried out in a safe, sustainable and responsible manner, the Game Management Authority (GMA) has an extensive research program and works with industry and other government stakeholders to monitor game animal populations and activity.


The Research Assistant will work both autonomously and as part of a small team, planning and assisting with research projects, collecting and managing data and assisting with the preparation of reports and other documents to contribute to ensure sustainable game hunting in Victoria.

The Research Assistant will also communicate effectively with Senior Management and engage with stakeholders and industry and in planning, conducting and communicating results of research.


This position will contribute to the design and implementation of research and monitoring program and analyse the environmental, social and economic impacts of game hunting and game management, monitor the abundance and demographics of game species and provide support to the Research Principal in delivering the Research Program.
