    The Accounts Payable team, within Shared Services Finance, has several Senior Finance Officer (ASO4) vacancies and are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic team players to join our team of experts.

    Please note, all positions will be initially offered as temporary contracts of either 3 or 6 months duration. These opportunities may be extended or become permanent in the future.

    The Accounts Payable function sits within the Finance Operations area of Shared Services Finance. Finance Operations are well known for providing exceptional accounts payable, banking operations, and business intelligence services across the ACT Government.

    With a strong customer focus, the team must work collaboratively with stakeholders and partners to deliver integrated finance service operations on behalf of the Territory.

    Therefore, we are seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to join our team. In this fast-paced role you will be responsible for undertaking a range of support services and technical accounts payable functions.

    The Accounts Payable work area is a rewarding and busy function, and to set you apart from other candidates', exceptional time management, problem solving, and analytical skills is a must The Senior Finance Officer role is expected to provide support and direction to junior officers within the team, making previous supervisory experience highly desirable.

    Thorough face to face training will be provided to you and we currently work in a Flexispace environment where you will be expected to work either at our Belconnen or Winyu offices with other members of the Payables team.

    To be successful in this role you should have a strong understanding of the work practices and procedures that underpin a successful finance operations environment.

    Previous experience in a finance operations or processing environment would be highly regarded.

    Eligibility/Other requirements:

  • Previous experience in a finance operations or processing environment would be highly regarded.
  • Previous supervisory experience is desirable.

    • Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of three to six months, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. Selection may be made on application and referees report only. A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
