Role Description


Project Support Officers are required to work under general direction to undertake a range of administrative tasks including maintaining Risk Registers, Stakeholder Matrix, and management of Program and Project artefacts within the team.

You will assist several team leads in the delivery of the Project to provide effective administration, procurement and finance support to technical projects.

You will be required to work cohesively and communicate effectively with other project team staff and stakeholder groups.


You should have a proven history of working in complex projects and contributing to the organisational capability within the project.


Major responsibilities include:

  • Under general direction maintain program and project Risk Registers; including regular reviews and updates; advising team members if they have been nominated to execute risk treatment; and facilitating project risk workshops;
  • Under general direction maintain project documentation including establishment of a document library and control methods for finalised project documents. Ensure that all final documents meet audit requirements and are easily retrievable;
  • Under general direction implement stakeholder communication plans, enhancing customer and stakeholder relationships;
  • Provide administration support including schedule maintenance, monthly reporting, and resource management;
  • Provide general administrative support including management of project record keeping requirements and systems; secretariat support for project meetings and forums and other communications;
  • Provide office and administrative support to the Program Office;
  • Under general direction edit technical and project related documents, and publish documents on the intranet.

Skills and knowledge required include:

  • Knowledge of the Project Management methodologies;
  • Demonstrated Project Officer Competencies within the ICT field;
  • Experience with the Commonwealth complex procurement process, including the tendering process, and managing contracts, is desirable;
  • SFIA Portfolio Programme and Project Support (PROF3);
  • SFIA Requirements Definition and Management Level 5 (REQM5).
You will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 3.


You will be required to have and maintain a TSPV Clearance, as well as pass an Organisational Suitability Assessment (conducted if found suitable).
