We are currently seeking an experienced and self-motivated Finance Analyst for a contract role within a large Automotive Product Development team based in Melbourne.

In this role you will be working in a dynamic global environment with finance cost control responsibility for parts on future model vehicles.

You will be part of a team that is responsible for maintaining finance oversight over supplier cost changes, engineering / design changes and the completion of gateway deliverables to support program budgets and timing.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage material cost and investment reporting
Support the cross functional change management process review and verify program design updates and commercial changes, support the approval and reporting process, and understand physicals driving those changes.
Support Material Cost & Investment Issue to Issue variance analysis and report outs (for example mix and and currency explanations)
Complete Bill of Material (BOM) reconciliations to validate cost status and ensure robust financial reporting
Possible involvement in other workstreams analysis on packaging, freight or duties, program investment consolidation, business case analysis to support program strategy and feature and content decisions, process improvement initiatives / automation projects, etc.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

Bachelor degree in Commerce or in a related field
Minimum 5 years' relevant industry experience
Proficient with finance analysis skills (variance analysis) and Microsoft Excel
Business Acumen strong understanding of business processes
Quality Methods process oriented, attention to detail, able to critically analyse and identify deficiencies of process
Drive for Results delivery to milestone timings, selfstarter
Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work within cross functional team (with purchasing, engineers, etc)
