As we continue through an exciting period of growth, and due to the Company's involvement in a number of new projects and studies,
Lycopodium is currently recruiting for an experienced
Lead Cost Controller to join our Perth based team.
The tasks you'll perform
- Support and lead the cost control functions on a range of projects, with varying levels of complexity.
- Manage and coordinate inputs from various team members including engineering, procurement, contracts, project and construction in order to establish detailed cost, manhour controls and schedule.
- Ensure all budgets; forecasts and cost commitments are produced efficiently, to a high standard, and in line with company & project requirements.
- Support team members with reforecasting and estimating activities to complete project cost forecasts (trending).
- Prepare project specific reports including progress, financial and resource information, including actual costs, earned value and forecasts.
- Assist Project Managers in decision making by constantly monitoring budget and expenditure changes, as well as providing regular updates of project status.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including Clients, Vendors and coworkers.
- Provide leadership, guidance and direction to the Cost Control team as required.
The expertise you'll bring
- 8+ years' experience in a cost control or related role, ideally within an engineering or projectbased environment.
- Qualifications in a commerce or engineering discipline is preferred, but not essential.
- Previous experience working on major capital resources sector projects will be considered favourably.
- Advanced competencies with industry standard software including Microsoft Excel and cost control programmes (
CMS proficiency will be highly regarded). - High attention to detail and exceptional knowledge of project controls.
- Capacity to evaluate work practices, implement systems and suggest alternatives and refinements where necessary.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with numerous stakeholders across all business units.
- A selfstarter who can readily adapt to shifting priorities in a fastpaced environment.
