The new Light Rail will connect Westmead to Carlingford via the Parramatta CBD and Camellia, spanning 12 kilometres and utilising stateoftheart vehicles that delivers comfortable, userfriendly and highperformance services. By 2026, around 28,000 people will use Parramatta Light Rail every day and an estimated 130,000 people will be living within walking distance of light rail stops.

The role

  • Before transitioning into Operations phase and whilst we are in operational readiness phase there will be a focus on the technical training program. This will include working closely with the Technical Trainer, developing training documentation, and then supporting the delivery of the training. With your extensive knowledge in this field, there will be an opportunity to provide input to the testing and commissioning teams. As we transition to operations your role will change, and you will be responsible for leading a small team responsible for planned, preventative and corrective maintenance relating to all electrical and power systems assets. This will include responding to emergencies, incidents and any related asset failures and then restoring electrical assets after an incident.

What you bring

This will include demonstrated experience of traction power systems maintenance. Your highlevel problemsolving skills will allow you to manage difficult situations including responding to emergencies and restoring assets after incidents. This will be supported by the ability carry out asset inspections and undertake fault finding and ensure asset reliability. Equally important is the ability to engage and build effective working relationships both internally and externally (contractors) with a focus on building a cohesive team and then development and leadership.
  • Essential to your success will be the ability to build and lead the function from operational readiness phase to first passenger services and beyond. In addition to your uncompromising attitude to the safety of our employees, clients, and customers you will be passionate about being part of a workplace that is based on respect, promotes diversity, and encourages inclusiveness.
