Are you an experienced Process Improvement Specialist? Come along and champion the Traveller experience at Melbourne Airport. We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual with a passion of business/continuous improvements. Review, improve, and redesign business processes and services in partnership with our internal and external stakeholders


We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Baggage Interface Specialist who could come and join our aviation services team on permanent basis.


The Baggage Interface Specialist is responsible for contributing to the design, development & delivery of business improvements across all Baggage projects including innovative product development, infrastructure projects & process improvements, service enhancements and people change projects.

You will get the opportunity to work with Development Manager, Project Manager, Consultants, and wider project team from initiation through to the delivery.

With the aviation and travel sector booming as we head into 2023, on top of major projects that will underpin the future growth and development of Melbourne Airport and Victoria as a whole, now is a very exciting time to join


Key responsibilities:

The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to development & deliver business improvements across Aviation Services including processes, systems, people and infrastructure projects from inception, business case development, funding & approvals to delivery and go live ensuring ORAT (Operational Readiness Activation and Transition) activities successfully completed.
  • Represent the aviation stakeholder group and ensure their needs and requirements are represented.
  • Ensure appropriate stakeholder engagement and signoffs.
  • Development of relevant trial and implementation plans.
  • Ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Contribute to and deliver the stakeholder management and communications strategy for relevant terminal projects and operational golive of terminal infrastructure.
  • Ensure all stakeholders focus on safety, timescales, and costeffective delivery of projects.
  • Ensure that the development and implementation of terminal projects, process and operational improvement initiatives are supported by appropriate policy and procedures to maximise their impact for the customer.
  • Design and where required reengineer process and procedures to support the operation and customer.
  • Good knowledge and experience within the Aviation industry with a focus on airport operations or baggage operations and systems
  • Understanding of baggage flows, ground handling operations and baggage operating systems is preferred, not mandatory
  • Experience working on projects from initiation to completion
  • Experience in project coordination
  • 2+ years' experience in specialist/project type role
  • 1+ years' experience in aviation industry
