We have a highly engaged, diverse and collaborative workforce that is unified by our purpose, which is to help people live healthy and fulfilled lives.

About the department:

Austin Health is the third largest provider of care for patients with rheumatic diseases in Victoria. It offers both inpatient and outpatient services, together with a robust Clinical Trials Unit.

Specialist areas of expertise include ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis, polymyalgia rheumatica and giant cell arteritis, connective tissue diseases and musculoskeletal disorders.

About the role:

Austin Health's Rheumatology Department has a growing Clinical Trials Unit. Currently, this involves a number of pharmaceutical company-sponsored therapeutic trials, along with investigator-initiated research.

In particular, the Unit will participate in the MRFF-funded PROSPECT study, which will determine the role for de-escalation of high-cost biologic medications in rheumatoid arthritis.

This role will therefore provide support to the Clinical Trials Lead and Rheumatology Research Coordinator
