About the Team

Mobility and Insights is a division the Department of Transport and is responsible for the delivery of better outcomes for users of the transport system through developing and coordinating customer and transport system insights, strategy, and innovation.
About the Opportunity
This role supports the Manager, Data Governance in establishing and maintaining strong data governance practices and developing data standards across the DOT, contributing to a broader program of work to improve the quality and reliability of data and improve decision making and feeds of data to customers and third parties.
This role will also support the Data Standards Advisor and Data Governance Advisor in ensuring appropriate governance practices are adopted by business units and data standards are developed and integrated into DOT processes and commercial arrangements.
Key Selection Criteria
- Data Governance
- Has supported the Data Governance team to establish policies, standards, and metrics to ensure the effective and efficient use of information in enabling the department to achieve its goals and contributing to a broader program of work to improve the quality and reliability of data.
- Data Quality Management
- Has helped develop and maintain frameworks and plans for data quality management for each critical (high value/high risk) data asset, ensuring adherence to data standards.
- Data Catalogue
- Has helped develop and manage DOT's data catalogue, which has improved visibility of data sets, data lineage and data quality across DoT.
- Stakeholder Relationships
- The incumbent has developed strong stakeholder relationships with internal stakeholders to support value creation, leverage data assets and develop more improved data driven insights. Has helped establish clear accountability on who the Data Custodian is and what their accountabilities are for each data asset, including the data quality of that asset.
